This article is for those foreigners who work in Indonesia on a limited stay permit (KITAS) that is initially sponsored by a local company (PT, PT PMA or Representative Office) but who want to change the sponsorship of their KITAS from the company to their Indonesian spouse (husband or wife). For example, you are an expat who moved to Indonesia several years ago to work for a local company. This means that you must have obtained a company-sponsored KITAS. A KITAS is a limited stay permit that has to be sponsored by either a company or spouse. But while you work in Indonesia you meet your partner, marry, and now want to change the sponsor of your KITAS from the company to your spouse (for example because you want to quite your job).
